The property was secured by me in 2018. It was vandalised badly prior to me taking over the property after being out of service with no maintenance for a prolonged period of time. It was abandoned. It was in a terrible condition with all building services inoperable and both the hostel and units being inhabitable. In one year after living on the property with Jessie my best friend (German Shepherd), with the hard work from my family and team we fully renovated the hostel and assisted living units and launched an assisted living business i.e. Providence Living and a mining accommodation services business i.e. Muswellbrook Serviced Apartments.
This was where I found the keys the first day I secured the property.
Office spaces the first day I secured the property!
Jessie helping me put carpet tiles down. Note the hall and rooms were all different colours at this point. That was because Bunnings didn't have enough to do the vast space. These tiles were later replaced and were key to take on the first lot of guests in the hostel.
Me putting carpet down for the hostel first wing/8 rooms ensuring completion for opening.
As the property was vandalised when I got it, it was often subject to being burgled. I picked Jessie up on this day and got her as a second family at aged three. Jessie lived with me on the property and helped make it safe to call home and to work!
